Gold rating for Renault Trucks’ CSR from Ecovadis

The independent body Ecovadis has awarded Renault Trucks a gold rating for its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Furthermore, the French manufacturer has had the same rating for three years in a row.

As a result, Renault Trucks is in the top 5% when it comes to best performing companies.

To get the gold rating, Renault Trucks was evaluated by Ecovadis, based on 21 criteria in four categories.

For example, Ecovadis looked at labour and human rights and sustainable procurement.

In addition, the company’s approach to business ethics and the environment were also analysed.

Specifically, Renault Trucks’ performance in the latter two categories helped get the gold rating.

Reducing CO2 emissions forms the core of Renault Trucks’ actions.

This approach applied to facilities and the energy efficiency of the vehicles produced.

Renault Trucks’ Normandy plant in Blainville-sur-Orne is one example.

In addition, the company conducts energy audits and implements action plans.

Meanwhile, it has also recruited an energy optimisation engineer.

To support the circular economy, Renault Trucks is developing a chain for recycling and reuse of HGV parts.

Earning the gold rating meant concentrating on business ethics.

Renault Trucks says it conducts its business with ‘integrity, respecting international regulations’.

In addition, it adheres to the  Code of Conduct of the Volvo Group to which it belongs.

For example, the company has set up regular, mandatory training courses on this Code and on anti-corruption.

In addition, corruption risks have been mapped and mitigated through action plans.

Finally, in order to raise awareness and limit the risks of hacking and data leakage, Renault Trucks organises regular training sessions on cyber security and data protection.
