Sustainable transport has been a big feature within Renault Trucks over the past few years.
As a result, the company has been announced as an industry partner for an upcoming summit.
Climate Action’s Transport Transition Summit – Driving Transportation to Climate Positive Tipping Points – takes place on 11th and 12th May.
The virtual event brings together a number of key stakeholders driving sustainable and net-zero transition.
For example, representatives from policy and regulation to innovation, technology and investment.
Together, they will raise awareness of industry issues ahead of November’s COP26 event in Glasgow.
Renault Trucks UK MD, Carlos Rodrigues, (pictured) will speak between 10:00 – 11:15 GMT on 12 May.
Specifically, he will address the big issue challenges in commercialising zero-emission freight.
Karine Forien, from Renault Trucks, says it’s an important moment for the brand.
“We look forward to shining a light on the challenges for our industry, sharing insights and opening up the debate around policy, infrastructure, vehicles, investment and incentives.”
Meanwhile, Nick Henry, from Climate Action, was delighted to announce Renault’s involvement.
“We are delighted that Renault Trucks are sharing their leadership and vision for a low carbon transport world,” he said.
Importantly, Renault Trucks boasts plans for a fully electric range from 3.1-tonnes to 26-tonnes.
The vehicle lineup answers the need to offer sustainable transport, improve air quality and reduce noise pollution.
Therefore, from 2023, an all-electric Renault Trucks offer will be available for all sectors, namely distribution, construction and long distance,
A Z.E. tractor unit is also being prepared by Renault Trucks.
As a result, the manufacturer has committed that 10% of its total sales (vehicles over 12-tonnes) will be electric by 2025.
Specifically, this figure will rise to 35% in 2030 and, by 2040, all vehicle ranges will be 100% fossil-free.
