Logistics UK’s Vehicle Inspection Service training gets a boost

News

Vehicle Inspection Service training at industry body Logistics UK has been improved thanks to Renault Trucks.

Logistics UK and the truck maker joined forces to offer training for Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) engineers.

The training took place at the Woodland Grange Conference Centre in Leamington Spa.

Above all, it was a chance for Logistics UK to follow through on its commitment to continuous professional improvement for staff.

In addition, it was also seen as a way of ensuring that customers get the best service and that high safety standards are maintained.

Two T460 trucks from Renault were used to support the delivery of the training programme.

During the training, the vehicles were used for ‘topside’ and ‘underside’ procedural inspections by area and senior engineers.

Subsequently, Logistics UK said there is a plan to roll out familiarisation training to the wider inspection team imminently.

Mick Parcell, head of VIS health and safety and engineering improvement at Logistics UK, was delighted with the day.

“Logistics UK’s VIS is always striving to maximise the effectiveness of the service we offer to customers,” he said.

Parcell added that there were clear aims from the training. Those aims were to ensure safety, quality and consistency remained at the forefront of the VIS team’s activities.

Therefore, it would enable the engineers “to continue to deliver an exceptional service to all customers”.

Meanwhile, Renault Trucks’ Alex Williams said the company was only too happy to help.

“Due to the training taking place in Warwickshire, we were delighted to be able to assist Logistics UK,” he stated.

The Logistics UK VIS team of engineers works across a wide range of industry sectors such as retail, construction and 3PL operations.
