Renault adds low entry cab to its Z.E. range

News

Renault Trucks has unveiled the D Wide Z.E. low entry cab, designed specifically for urban environments.

The new cab offers improved ergonomics, visibility and safety levels – all essential elements in city and town driving.

With that in mind, Renault is specifically targeting the waste and distribution sectors with the new model.

The D Wide cab can accommodate the driver and up to three other passengers, with more room inside to move around.

The new cab’s entry height is 200mm lower than a standard Renault D cab. Therefore, it is much easier for driver and passengers to get in and out.

In addition, there is the option to drop the front of the vehicle by another 70mm.

This innovation is designed to limit crew stress and fatigue on routes that require getting in and out multiple times.

Carlos Rodrigues, managing director, Renault Trucks UK & Ireland, highlighted the many benefits of the new low entry cab.

“Easier access and excellent direct vision allows customers to operate more cleanly, more safely and more productively,” he said.

Renault Trucks’ electric models enable operators to service needs of cities with a range of zero tailpipe emissions vehicles.

“A low entry cab model opens up those vehicle types where ease of access and sensitivity to vulnerable road users are particular priorities,” he added.

The D Wide Z.E. low entry cab is available as a 6×2 rigid tag with steered rear axle.

Renault is expecting interest from the construction sector building suppliers and distribution operators.

Developed with bodybuilder Estepe, the cab is available to order now.
